Door glass
A broken side window after a break-in
A thief at a beach access lot or a gym parking lot usually breaks one side window and leaves the rest. Side glass is made to shatter into pebbles, and most of them drop down inside the door where you cannot reach them. The technician clears that out of the door shell and off the carpet before the new window goes in.
Rain is the real worry until then. One July shower soaks a seat cushion, so a garage or carport beats any cover you can rig. A trash bag and packing tape will last across town on surface streets, and rarely survive a run up I-95.
What we replace
- Any door window on a car, SUV, van or pickup
- Text a picture of the empty frame to (877) 350-5962 and we can match the part sooner
Back glass
Rear windows for sedans, SUVs and pickups
Back glass is the window behind the rear seats. The thin lines printed across it are the defroster, and on plenty of models the radio antenna runs through the glass too. We order the right piece by VIN, set it in your driveway or lot, and plug the defroster and antenna back in.
A liftgate window, a sedan rear window and a truck's sliding cab window are separate parts, even on the same brand. The body style or the VIN with your quote request saves a second call.
Sunroof glass
Sunroofs and panoramic glass roofs
Pines and live oaks drop limbs in summer storms and hurricane season, and a glass roof is the biggest target on the car. We replace tilting sunroof panels and the large fixed panels of panoramic roofs, then reseal the opening in the same visit.
Glass that is intact but stuck open points to a motor or track fault, which belongs with a sunroof mechanic; we say so on the first call. A sunroof claim goes under your policy's normal deductible in Florida.
Fleet
Company vehicles across Northeast Florida
Box trucks working the warehouse parks on the Westside and the Northside, contractor pickups in new St. Johns County subdivisions, service vans on the Beaches run: a vehicle with a cracked windshield is a vehicle off the road. We replace windshields and side glass at your yard, your office lot or a job site.
Send the list of vehicles, with VINs if you have them, and where each one parks. We quote every vehicle on the list and set times that fit your dispatch.
Before we arrive
With a window out, a few quick steps
- Take photos of the damage and the car before you clean anything up, in case you file a claim or a police report.
- Brush loose glass off the seat before you sit down, and keep children and pets out of the car.
- Park under cover if rain is on the way; a carport or garage is better than any tape job.
- Take valuables, garage openers and paperwork with the car's address out of the car.
- Text a photo to (877) 350-5962 so we can confirm the part before the visit.
We install where the car is parked off the road, never on the shoulder of an interstate.
Other glass questions in Jacksonville
Not sure which glass you need? Text a photo to (877) 350-5962 or call our Jacksonville line, (904) 900-2264.
Can you replace the little fixed window near the rear pillar?
No. That is quarter glass, and we have dropped it from our services. Windshields, door windows, back glass and sunroof glass are what we do.
Does Florida's windshield deductible rule cover my back glass?
No. Fla. Stat. § 627.7288 names the windshield and nothing else, so a rear window, a door window or a sunroof claim uses your policy's normal comprehensive deductible.
My window is stuck halfway but not broken. Is that you?
Not us. A stuck window with whole glass usually means a failed regulator or motor, which a mechanic handles. Call us when the glass is cracked or gone.
What if the defroster lines stop working after the job?
Call our Jacksonville line, (904) 900-2264. The technician checks the defroster connection before leaving, and our lifetime workmanship warranty, for as long as you own the vehicle, covers our workmanship and defects in the glass we install.
