Price
What a Jacksonville windshield costs, and why
There is no single price to post, because the glass in a base model and the glass in its loaded twin can be different parts. These are the things that move a quote.
- Camera
Driver-assist camera
Lane-keep and emergency braking cameras sit on a bracket bonded to the glass, and they get calibrated once the new windshield is in.
- HUD
Head-up display
Glass made to reflect the speed reading without a doubled image. It costs more than the plain version of the same windshield.
- Sensors
Rain sensor and auto lights
Wipers that start on their own read the glass through a small mount near the mirror. The replacement has to carry that mount.
- Comfort
Acoustic and heated glass
Quieter laminated glass and a heated strip for the wipers are both options that change the part number.
- Insurance
Using comprehensive coverage
Florida windshields: $0 Deductible with Comprehensive Coverage. We read your policy with you before booking and help you file with USAA, GEICO, State Farm, Progressive, Allstate or a smaller carrier.
- Self-pay
Paying it yourself
Send the year, make and model, or the VIN, and you get a price before anything is booked. The quote is free.
Work zones
Jacksonville road work that throws stones
Big FDOT jobs mean grooved lanes, moving barriers and loose aggregate for months on end. These are the corridors with major work in recent years. Schedules slip, so we leave the finish dates to FDOT.
| Corridor | Where | Why glass suffers |
|---|---|---|
| I-95 near Emerson Street | South of downtown, by the Emerson Street and San Diego Road bridges | A rebuilt stretch with lane shifts and construction trucks merging in |
| I-95 on the Southside | From the Southside down toward J. Turner Butler Boulevard | Widening work with new interchanges planned along the way |
| I-95 and I-295 North | Where the two interstates meet on the Northside | A multi-year interchange rebuild with ramps moved more than once |
| I-10 on the Westside | Between I-295 and I-95 | Widening between the beltway and downtown |
| Heckscher Drive and I-295 | Northside, near the Blount Island and Dames Point terminals | Container and bulk trucks running to and from JAXPORT |
Closures change from week to week. Check fl511.com before a long drive through any of these.
Where we install
Driveway, office lot or garage deck
Your driveway
The simplest place. Park nose out if you can, so the technician can reach the whole windshield and open both front doors.
Office parks off J. Turner Butler
Surface lots along Gate Parkway and the office parks near the JTB interchanges work well. Give us the building and the row.
Downtown decks
A covered level keeps a shower off fresh urethane. Tell us the deck, the level and the clearance.
Apartment complexes
Share the gate code and the building number. We need a space with room on both sides of the car.
Out at the Beaches
Wind and blowing sand off the ocean are hard on a fresh install. A garage or the sheltered side of the building is the better spot.
Rainy season
Booking a windshield between May and September
Afternoon thunderstorms are part of summer here. A few habits keep the appointment on track.
- Ask for a morning time when you can. Summer storms tend to build after lunch.
- A garage, a carport or a covered parking deck lets the job go ahead under a passing shower.
- If the crack lets water in, keep the car under cover until we arrive. Should you need to tape, use plastic on the outside of the glass and leave the camera area bare.
- Clear the dash and the area around the mirror, so the trim and the camera cover come off easily.
- Skip the car wash for the first day and ask the technician about the windows.
- If a storm cell is on its way to your side of town, we call to move the time and you choose the new one.
When the car is safe to drive depends on the urethane, the heat and the humidity that day, so the technician gives you that time on the spot.
Hurricane season
A cracked windshield before a storm
The windshield helps the roof keep its shape in a rollover, and a cracked one is weaker. If you might evacuate up I-95 or out along I-10 when a storm comes, get the cracked glass replaced early in the season, before the calendar fills behind a watch or a warning.
After a storm, take photos of the damage before you move limbs or debris, then call your insurer and our Jacksonville line, (904) 900-2264. Under Fla. Stat. § 627.7288 the deductible does not apply to windshield damage when the policy has comprehensive coverage; a side window or a sunroof goes under the normal deductible.

Camera calibration
New glass, then the camera
A lot of the cars on Jacksonville roads now read the lane lines through the windshield. When the glass changes, that camera is set back to the maker's specifications, in the same visit where the procedure can be done on site. If your vehicle needs a different setup, we say so before you book.
Calibration is included with the windshield replacement when your car needs it. The ADAS calibration page covers what it does and where it can be done.
Windshield questions from Jacksonville drivers
Ask us on our Jacksonville line, (904) 900-2264, or send a photo by text to (877) 350-5962.
How do you know which windshield my car needs?
From the VIN. It lists the options the car left the factory with, so the camera bracket, sensor mount and glass type all match. You find it at the bottom corner of the windshield, on the driver door frame or on your insurance card.
Is OEM-quality glass as good as the glass my car came with?
It is made to the vehicle maker's specifications for fit, clarity and the mounts your features need, and we match it to your car by VIN.
Can someone come out today?
Often, yes. Same-day appointments are available in most parts of the Jacksonville area, depending on the glass and where you are. Call (904) 900-2264 or request a time online at any hour; installs run Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
Do I need to be home for the whole install?
Only at the start, to hand over the keys, and at the end, to hear the safe-to-drive time. Most installs take about 30–45 minutes.
How long before I can drive?
The technician tells you once the job is done. It depends on the urethane, the heat and the humidity that day, so there is no fixed time.
Does the warranty cover the new windshield?
Every install carries our lifetime workmanship warranty, for as long as you own the vehicle. It covers our workmanship and defects in the glass we install, not new damage from the next stone. Full terms are on bangautoglass.com/warranty.
