The town

A small town with big suburbs around it

Orange Park itself is small. The Town of Orange Park counted 9,089 residents in the 2020 census, on a strip of riverfront in the northeast corner of Clay County where it meets Jacksonville. It began in 1877 as a winter-home and citrus venture, became a town in 1879, and kept the name after the freezes of the 1890s wiped out the orange groves it was named for.

Most people with an Orange Park mailing address live outside the town line. Lakeside (31,275 people in 2020), Oakleaf Plantation (31,034), Fleming Island (29,142), Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace (14,482) and Middleburg (12,881) are unincorporated places run by Clay County, and each one is larger than the town. The state's own estimate puts the whole county at 238,605 people in 2025, up from 218,245 at the 2020 census.

That matters on install day in one practical way: the name on the envelope does not tell the technician where the car is. Give us your complete street address and a cross street nearby, and say whether you live inside a gated section.

Getting around

Main routes through north Clay

  1. US 17 (Park Avenue)

The spine of eastern Clay County. It runs through the town as Park Avenue, south across Doctors Lake onto Fleming Island and on to Green Cove Springs. Most Fleming Island trips start or end on it.

  2. Blanding Boulevard (SR 21)

The western spine, from the Duval line past the mall, through Lakeside and 13 miles southwest to Middleburg. Shopping-center lots line the northern half.

  3. Kingsley Avenue and Wells Road

East-west links between US 17 and Blanding. Kingsley Avenue is one of the town's main streets and the edge between Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace and Lakeside.

  4. I-295 and the Buckman Bridge

The beltway touches the north edge of Orange Park, then crosses the river on the Buckman Bridge to Mandarin. Before it opened in 1970, the drive from Orange Park to Mandarin went by way of downtown.

  5. First Coast Expressway (SR 23)

Clay County's first limited-access highway. Tolls began south of New World Avenue in July 2019, paid by SunPass or by plate; there are no booths and no cash. The last Clay County segment, from US 17 to Leonard C. Taylor Parkway near Green Cove Springs, opened on June 29, 2026.

A new bridge is being built beside the two-lane Shands Bridge on SR 16, a $595 million job begun in 2024 and due in 2030. Until it opens, expect lane changes and construction trucks at the river crossing south of Green Cove Springs.

Why glass breaks here

Long commutes, a lot of highway miles

Clay County has some of the longest drives to work in Florida. Over half of the county's working residents have jobs in another county, and the average trip is close to 33 minutes. Until the First Coast Expressway opened its first stretch in 2019, Clay was the largest county in the state without a limited-access highway, so all of that traffic rode Blanding, US 17 and I-295.

More highway miles mean more chances for a stone off a truck or loose gravel at a work zone. A small star break that would sit quietly in a parked car tends to grow on a long, hot commute with the air conditioning blowing on the glass. If a crack is spreading, it needs a new windshield; we do not do chip or crack repair.

You can book us at work rather than at home. If your office is across the river on the Southside or downtown, we can meet the car there, and the service area page lists the parts of Jacksonville we cover.

Where we work

Installs in Clay County neighbourhoods

Most Clay County jobs happen in a driveway. A few local details keep the visit simple.

  • Behind a gate in Fleming Island Plantation, Eagle Harbor, Pace Island or Oakleaf? Add the entry code to your booking so the technician is not stuck at the call box.
  • Some associations frown on work trucks parked in the street. We can work in your driveway or with the garage door up, which keeps everything on your lot.
  • Shopping-center lots on Blanding Boulevard and Park Avenue work only with the property's permission. Ask the management office first.
  • Navy families near NAS Jacksonville, a few miles north across the county line: the base decides whether an outside contractor may come on. Our guide for military families covers the options.
  • Rain: afternoon storms build quickly in summer. A garage, a carport or a morning slot helps; if a storm is about to hit your street, we ring you to pick another time.

Paying with insurance? In Florida, the windshield is the one piece of glass where the deductible does not apply on a policy with comprehensive coverage. We check your policy with you first; the insurance page has the details.

Orange Park and Clay County questions

Ask us on our Jacksonville line, (904) 900-2264, or by text at (877) 350-5962.

Is Orange Park part of Jacksonville?

No. Orange Park is its own town in Clay County, just south of the Duval County line. Lakeside, Oakleaf, Fleming Island and Middleburg are unincorporated parts of Clay County. Part of the Oakleaf development crosses into Jacksonville. We serve all of them from our Jacksonville listing.

Do you come out to Middleburg?

Yes. Middleburg is on our Jacksonville listing. Tell us the address and which side road off Blanding Boulevard leads to it, since some lots there are set well back from the road.

Can you replace a windshield inside Fleming Island Plantation or Eagle Harbor?

Usually. Add the entry code when you book and find out whether your association signs in vendors. Your driveway or garage gives the technician the most room.

I work across the river on the Southside. Can you replace it there instead of at home?

Yes, if the office lot allows vendor work; the service area page lists the parts of Jacksonville we cover. Same-day appointments are available in most areas, depending on the glass your car needs. You can request a time online around the clock, and we install Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
